He is also Founder and Director of Swim Focus, Head Coach of Rocket Fish Swim School, Co-Head Coach of our Master’s Program, Swim Long Beach.

Maureen O'Toole-Purcell is an accomplished Water Polo World Titleist, Olympic Silver Medalist, Coach, and Motivational Speaker. She is the founder of The Pursuit of Excellence Sports Academy, a non-profit foundation that teaches self-esteem and leadership training in a sports environment for girls 8–18 years of age.

Tony Cruz

Antonio Cruz is a former U.S. Olympian in road cycling and has been a cyclist for more than 25 years. As a Jr. Cyclist he placed 5th in the U.S. National Championships at the age of 14, and in 2004 and 2006, he won the Tour de Nez. He is credited with the success of Long Beach’s biking programs as the Bike Ambassador of Long Beach.

LBCC Business Club’s AIM for Success

$1000.00 Student Scholarship Guidelines for Fall 2018:

APPLICATION DUE: WEDNESDAY, NOV 14TH BY 5:00 PM

 

GUIDELINES:

Each AIM for Success student scholarship applicant must have attended at least three LBCC Business Club Fall 2018 workshops, clinics, or college service activities in order to qualify.

The AIM for Success scholarship award in the amount of $1000.00 will be awarded to one very lucky and deserving student as long as a minimum of 25 scholarship applications is timely submitted.

Understand--if a minimum of 25 scholarship applicants does not apply--the scholarship award will be reduced to a guaranteed scholarship award in the amount of $500.00.

The AIM Scholarship award winner will be announced at and MUST be present at the AIM for Success Seminar on Nov.16th from 10am-12pm in T-1200 in order to receive a scholarship.

All submissions must be timely submitted online to the LBCC Business Club website no later than Nov.14th, 2018 by 5 pm in order to be considered for the scholarship award.

 

Each applicant must address the following prompt:

 

“Write a short essay, using no less than 500 and no more than 1000 words, expressing specifically what you learned from each activity listed in guideline #1 and how each activity supported your appreciation and understanding of our current business environment. Additionally, provide detailed examples of how the knowledge gained from each activity listed in guideline #1 applies to your personal/professional/academic and/or future business development and growth.”
